This is the beginning. This is the first post on this newly begun site. It’s also a new beginning for me communicating through a different venue.
While there’s information about me and this site on other pages, I want to speak a bit about this site’s title. A verse you’ll see regularly here is Isaiah 40:31 where we’re told that “those that hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.” Now while this site is mostly about finding hope, it’s time for a little science lesson. In order for eagle’s to soar there needs to be air movement, specifically a thermal or updraft. Unfortunately, everyday life is not an unending updraft. There are moments of stillness where soaring may not seem possible but at least the landing can be gentle. But there also times when life seems overwhelming and the downdraft seems like enough to push you crashing to the earth.
Those parts together are what this site is about. You see we’re not told, nor should we expect that life is going to be easy. God doesn’t say that those who hope in the LORD during good and easy times will renew their strength and soar like eagles. What we’re told is that even the young grow tired and weak “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” If you take a look at the Who “We” Are page you’ll see that my family and I have experienced at least our share of downdrafts. Some of you may have had the same and more. The point is that in spite of how life has been, I haven’t given up on what’s in store, and neither should you. Stay tuned and follow the site or add your own comments and I’ll address issues such as these and others that will hopefully bring a new hope to you and help you deal with whatever challenges that may come to your life.
